Below are 5 events where you can make a difference in how this country is run.  See if you can attend at least one!
 
Saturday, Jan. 23 – Rally in Crown Point:  Reclaiming America.  This is a statewide event being held from 1-3:30 pm (door open at 12:15 to meet and greet the candidates) at the 4-H Building of the Lake County Fairgrounds at 889 South Court Street, Crown Point, IN.  Speakers will include Peter Heck, Emery McClendon, Richard Mourdock, Thomas Tabback and senatorial candidates Don Bates, Jr., and John Hostettler.  Tickets are $6 and there is limited seating.  To get tickets or further information, contact Cindy Bachota of Concerned Citizens of Michiana at 309-1126,
 
Saturday, Jan. 30 – Senatorial Candidate Petition Signing.  The five senatorial candidates who are running against Evan Bayh each need 500 signatures from each district in order to be on the ballot.  In an event sponsored  by Michiana 9/12 and Concerned Citizens of Michiana, all five candidates will have representatives at the Michiana 9/12 Building, 60536 CR 113. Elkhart, IN arteing at 1pm. You can meet and talk with them and sign their petitions.  (If you don’t want to travel so far, Cindy Bachota will have copies of all five petitions at the Martins on Ironwood by the bridge in Mishawaka from 11-12 that same day.)
 
Saturday, Jan. 30 – Hillsdale College Constitution Town Hall.  This is an online event called “Reviving the Constitution” (the live audience is in Chantilly, Virginia) running from 9am-3pm.  It will be conducted by Allan Kirby of the Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship.  There is no cost.  Register at www.constitutiontownhall.com.
 
Sunday, Jan. 31 – Kickoff Campaign for Jackie Walorski.  State Rep. Jackie Walorski kicks off her campaign for Congress against Joe Donnelly  from 2-4 pm at the Mishawaka FOP Lodge #91, 1825 E. 12th St., Mishawka. Jackie says on her Facebook page, “Please bring your friends and family and join me for what promises to be an exciting afternoon and the official start of my campaign to bring real leadership and honest Hoosier values to Washington!”
 
Saturday, March 20 – Constitutional Seminar.  Come learn the events leading up to the Constitution and then hear a detailed discussion of what is in it.  Cost will be $10.  Contact Kelly Havens at 272-7606 or through the Citizens for Common Sense website or gmail for more information as it becomes available.
